Bosch is a proud partner of FIRST Robotics. Bosch views FIRST not just as a robotics program, but as an opportunity for high school students to innovate, problem solve and become future leaders. Teams of students are required to design, build and program the robots’ software and then compete in competitions with the ultimate goal of making it to the World Championships. Bosch partners with 21 teams – made up of nearly 900 students – by providing knowledge, tools, scholarships and mentoring to help them learn and compete at the highest levels. In 2016, five Bosch teams made it to the World Championships. As a result of their participation on FIRST teams, many students have received community-engagement awards and college scholarships, as well as shown a greater interest in STEM-related careers.
